The scientific management for obtaining high yield of fish production eventually calls for the adequate and indepth study of breeding mechanism. Month wise variations with reference to histomorphological changes in oocytes of a fresh water fish, Labeo rohita (Ham.) have been described. The different stages of oocytes development were examined microscopically. Five stages of oocytes development of Labeo rohita under study were identified. The matured ova were found in the month of May, June and July in the ovary of this fish.. KEYWORDS :Histology, Ovary, Labeo rohita (Ham.)
