Optimising Digital Learning: Assessing the Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy and the Moderating Influence of Technological Infrastructure on Student Academic Performance in JiangXi's Higher Education

This study investigates the impact of the digital learning environment on student academic performance within higher education institutions in JiangXi, China. Focusing on five key dimensions—digital learning materials, digital course design, educator competence, learning support services, and student digital literacy—the research examines how these factors individually and collectively influence student outcomes. Additionally, it explores the mediating role of students' self-efficacy in digital learning and the moderating influence of technological infrastructure. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study integrates quantitative data from surveys with qualitative insights from interviews and focus groups. The findings suggest that enhanced digital competence and improved access to technological resources significantly elevate student academic performance, moderated by infrastructure quality and mediated by self-efficacy in digital settings. This research provides valuable implications for policy-makers and educational practitioners aiming to optimize digital education strategies in JiangXi's vibrant academic landscape.
