The purpose of this study is to classify the types of latent profiles of high school students' life safety awareness and to examine interindividual differences in each latent group. Latent profiles analyses were conducted using the life safety awareness scale of high school students developed for a total of 834 students. The results of the study revealed that there were three latent profiles, and they were named ‘safety insensitivity type’, ‘safety maintenance type’, and ‘safety pursuit type’. The ‘safety pursuit type’ with high scores in all four sub-factors of life safety awareness accounted for 44.3% of the total, and the ‘safety insensitivity type’ with low scores was the lowest at 20.7%. Only significant differences in gender were found to have significant differences among interindividual differences by gender, grade, and academic achievement in the latent group. The study discussed the implications, limitations, and suggestions for follow-up studies of customized life safety education by examining the types and characteristics of latent profiles of high school students' life safety awareness.
