Abstract

Abstract This work presents changes made to the control systems of Emergency Shutdown Valves (ESDV) located around Mexilhão Platform, whose main objective was to eliminate PETOBRAS' demand for saturation deep diving in maintenance activities and their related safety risks. Due to the risk of permanently damaging current structures, planning operations were challenging. Risk analyses and simulated operations were carried out to identify gaps and project improvements, aiming for safe execution in the field. Tools and assembly components were specially designed for this demand and were previously tested in the simulated operation. The methodology described in this work adopted disruptive solutions, which have been successfully implemented in PETROBRAS assets since May 2018. A secondary delivery of this project is the minimization of production downtime due to the gain in agility in maintenance activities.
