Abstract

The proliferation of digital documents necessitates the development of secure and reliable methods for their storage and authentication. This paper explores a novel system that leverages blockchain technology to address these challenges and create a robust document management solution.By harnessing the core strengths of blockchain, namely its immutability, tamper-proof nature, and distributed ledger architecture, the proposed system ensures the secure storage and verifiable authenticity of documents.Documents are uploaded in a hashed format, generating a unique fingerprint that guarantees data integrity and prevents unauthorized modifications.Furthermore, access control mechanisms are implemented to restrict unauthorized access and ensure data security. To provide non-repudiation of document origin and prevent forgery, cryptographic signatures are employed, allowing users to verify the authenticity of documents and identify their creators. This blockchain-based system offers several advantages over traditional document management approaches. It significantly enhances security by offering a tamper-proof and immutable record of all documents and their associated actions.Additionally, the system promotes transparency by providing a clear audit trail for all document interactions, fostering trust and accountability. Finally, the distributed nature of blockchain technology eliminates the need for a central authority, streamlining document management processes and reducing reliance on third-party verification.Overall, this paper presents a compelling solution for secure document storage and authentication, offering significant benefits for various sectors that rely heavily on digital documentation.
