Abstract

In this paper, a two-port wideband MIMO antenna for n77/n78/n79/5GHz WiFi sub-6GHz 5G applications is presented. The MIMO antenna structure is composed the two symmetrical circular slot monopole antennas with a common ground plane and an overall antenna size FR4 of 36×18×1.6 mm 3 . A T-shaped ground stub is placed between the two radiating patches in the ground plane to achieve impedance bandwidth (3.3GHz- 6GHz) and high isolation to reduce the mutual coupling effect between MIMO antenna elements. The proposed MIMO antenna has a low mutual coupling of (S 21 9.9), MEG gain of –3dB, and a peak gain of 2.1 by utilizing CST software. It is observed that a two-port MIMO antenna is suitable for sub-6GHz 5G and IoT applications.
