Key Points

  • Compliance monitoring by the National Labor Inspectorate improves occupational safety outcomes.
  • Effective risk prevention strategies are crucial for reducing injuries and occupational diseases.
  • A diverse range of employment contracts complicates employee training and safety processes.
  • Enhancing Ukraine's regulatory framework may protect workers' rights to occupational safety.

Abstract

The article analyzes the Polish system of occupational safety in machine- building enterprises and examines the system of documents that must be prepared by employers involved in employment processes and aimed at reducing injuries and occupational diseases. It is determined that the system establishes the basic principles of risk prevention, information, training, and employee participation in the occupational safety process. It is particularly important to note the fairly wide range of types of employment contracts in the Polish employment system, which somewhat complicates the process and training of employees, as well as the need to involve lawyers. The role of the National Labor Inspectorate (Państwowa Inspekcja Pracy — PIP) has been clarified. It is central to the system of monitoring compliance with occupational safety requirements, conducts inspections, provides advice and training to employers and employees, and participates in the development of legislation. Based on the research conducted and using the experience of the Polish state, a conclusion has been formulated on improving the regulatory framework for occupational safety in Ukraine, which will ultimately help to implement effective control over the observance of workers' rights to occupational safety in the machine-building industry and in industry in general.
