Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the system of physical training in higher education institutions, considered as an essential factor in shaping youth’s professional and personal readiness for future activities. Theoretical and methodological foundations as well as practical approaches to organizing students’ physical training are analyzed. The key trends of transformation of the physical education and health-oriented environment in higher education institutions under contemporary social challenges are identified, with particular attention to the realities of martial law, which require future professionals not only to demonstrate a high level of physical endurance but also the ability to adapt quickly, mobilize resources, and maintain psychological resilience. The role of physical training in developing students’ integral competence-combining professional endurance, stress resistance, motivational orientation, civic position, and social activity-is defined. The leading factors determining the quality of physical training are identified, including innovative learning technologies, individualization and differentiation of classes, integration of digital resources, and the creation of a health-preserving, rehabilitative, and safe educational environment. The necessity of revising traditional forms and methods of organizing physical activity is substantiated, emphasizing that, in the context of martial law; they should incorporate elements of military-applied training, increased functional endurance, and readiness for action in extreme conditions. Conceptual provisions for the modernization of the system of physical education have been developed on the basis of competence-based, value-oriented, and integrative approaches. Practical recommendations are proposed to improve the content, forms, and technologies of organizing students’ physical activity. It is concluded that the transformation of the system of physical training in higher education institutions is not only an instrument of preserving and strengthening youth’s health but also a strategic factor in shaping a socially responsible and nationally conscious personality of the future professional.
