The Kattralai – A Symbolic Novel

The aloevera plant (Kattralai in Tamil) is a symbol for many things: nature’s resilience and patience, women’s mental fortitude, and their ability to overcome social challenges. The psychological struggles of the female characters in the novel are explainedthrough this symbolism, as is their stance in overcoming social opposition.
