Abstract

Taking into account the processes of the early 2020s, this paper presents a historical overview of Venezuelas relations with Russia and China within the framework of this South American countrys approaches to building a multipolar world. Based on the rhetoric of political leaders and the content of strategic documents, the authors show that Russia and China, in the view of the Venezuelan side, appear to be key actors in the formation of multipolarity, and partnerships with them create an opportunity for Caracas to participate in the reconfiguration of the system of international relations. At the same time, if China is perceived as a state capable of transforming an unfair economic system, then in relations with Moscow the emphasis is on having common geopolitical goals and confronting the United States.
