Level II Historic Building Recording Assessment at Beckside Farm, 9, Stainton Road, Waddingham, Lincolnshire

A Level II historic building record was undertaken on a range of two north-south orientated outbuildings prior to their conversion to form to new annexe accommodation. The two outbuildings of this range were considered to be contemporaneous. They feature on the earliest map consulted for this project that comprised the local tithe map for the parish of Waddingham of 1840. So they may be considered to be of at least mid 19th century date, or earlier. Both had been subject to considerable internal alteration. The southerly outbuilding was originally of one storey, but had been increased in height by the addition of first floor brickwork. The internal alterations made any interpretation of former functions difficult, though both outbuildings were considered to have originally functioned as stable blocks with a probable first floor hayloft in the two storey northerly outbuilding.
