Key Points

  • Nonsuicidal self-injury frequency decreased alongside symptom severity in adolescents with depression.
  • Participants reported improved emotional regulation capacity following intervention.
  • Observational analysis of group nursing interventions shows potential in alleviating depression.
  • Further validation is needed to confirm effectiveness in addressing adolescent emotional challenges.

Abstract

Grouping nursing interventions based on emotion regulation training was associated with alleviation of depressive symptoms, greater emotional regulation capacity, and lower frequency and severity of NSSI behaviors among adolescents, suggesting a potential beneficial role that warrants further prospective validation.
