  • Developed a gate framework for measurement claim validation
  • Implemented mechanisms for identifying and propagating uncertainties
  • Created an example focusing on linear inverse problems and the Fisher matrix
  • Enabled explicit specification of forward models and calibration oversight
  • Facilitated diagnostics for identifiability and uncertainty management
  • Outlined replication requirements to ensure reliability of scientific claims

Abstract

CDM (Constraint-Driven Metrology) is a gate framework for validating measurement claims and inference pipelines, especially inverse problems. It enforces: explicit forward/measurement model specification, calibration traceability, identifiability (rank/Fisher-information diagnostics), uncertainty propagation and covariance disclosure, inverse-problem well-posedness and regularization transparency, bias/leakage checks (selection effects, multiple testing), and replication/audit-log requirements. This release includes a worked linear inverse-problem example that computes the Fisher matrix, demonstrates ill-conditioning, and shows how hidden regularization or post-hoc tuning invalidates claims. CDM outputs PASS/FAIL with failure localization and is intended as a “metrology compiler” for scientific reliability.
