Fruit quality improvements in high density guava (Psidium guajava L.) in response to integrated nutrient management

Abstract

AbstractA field investigation was conducted at Horticulture farm, Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur during June, 2024 to January, 2025. The eighteen treatment combinations comprising different substittion ratios of FYM, vermicompost, poultry manure and neem cake were evaluated with three replications under randomized block design. The results exhibited significant effect of various treatment combinations on growth and yield parameters of guava during investigation. Among different treatment combinations, T6 ( 25 % RDN as recommended doses of nitrogen in form of urea+ 50 % RDN as FYM + 25% RDN as poultry manure) recorded the highest growth parameters and yield attributing characters, in addition to fruit quality parameters viz., TSS (13.83 0brix), ascorbic acid (189.85 mg/100 g pulp), total sugar (7.67 %), reducing sugar (4.73 %), non-reducing sugar (2.94 %), seed weight par fruit (3,94 g), pulp weight par fruit (205.56) and seed : pulp ratio (52.21) compared to rest of all other treatment during investigation.
