Abstract

ABSTRACT Droplet triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) have gained significant attention as a novel energy harvesting technology, yet enhancing their output power remains a critical challenge. This study presents a charge pumping approach using corona discharge‐generated plasma to substantially improve droplet TENG performance. A solid–solid TENG with rabbit hair as the triboelectric layer serves as the plasma source. Negative corona discharge generates abundant plasma on the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) surface of the droplet TENG, enabling stable charge attachment. Upon contact with the PTFE, droplets acquire substantial positive charges, decoupling the triboelectric effect between droplets and PTFE and significantly enhancing output characteristics. Compared to untreated devices, the pumped droplet TENG exhibits a 4.7 fold higher output voltage at 142 V and a 7.6 fold higher output power at 1.67 mW. A single droplet impact can illuminate 200 LEDs, demonstrating remarkable application potential. This breakthrough advances high‐efficiency, high‐power generation via droplet motion, providing a critical technical foundation for transitioning from fundamental research to practical applications.
