Key Points

  • This research aims to create a framework that connects high-dimensional generative architecture with stable cognition in low-dimensional experiences.
  • Introduced the Dimensional Projection Model (DPM) as a theoretical framework.
  • Defined key concepts like coherence navigation and probabilistic prediction.
  • Reconceptualized intuition in the context of structural coherence.
  • Cognition is viewed as a product of dimensional projection rather than a limitation.
  • Reframing perceptual filtering as essential for stable cognition.
  • Implications suggest a shift in AI design towards systems that navigate coherence.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper introduces the Dimensional Projection Model (DPM), a unifying framework that explains cognition through the geometric necessity of dimensional projection. We propose that perception, intuition, and conscious experience emerge as stabilized outcomes of a continuous projection from a high-dimensional generative substrate into a low-dimensional, actionable interface (the experienced 3D+T world). The model reframes perceptual filtering and dimensional reduction not as limitations but as functional prerequisites for stable, coherent cognition. Key Contributions: Formal distinction between coherence navigation and probabilistic prediction. Reconceptualization of intuition as sensitivity to gradients of structural coherence in latent space. Implications for shifting AI from purely predictive architectures toward systems capable of coherence navigation.
