Abstract

A fractional‐order differential equation called the Bagley–Torvik equation describes the behavior of viscoelastic damping. We employed the newly defined Tarig transform in this study to find the analytic solution to the Caputo generalized Bagley–Torvik equation. Furthermore, as special examples, solutions to some specific Bagley–Torvik‐type problems have been obtained. As the solutions acquired by this method coincide well with those obtained by previous methods, the Tarig transform is an efficient, simple method with a high level of accuracy.
