Abstract

Highlight Facemask use was observed systematically during the Arbaeen in 2020 and 2024. Respectively, in 2020 and 2024, 18.6% and 2.4% wore their facemasks correctly, while 10.6% and 1.3% wore them incorrectly. Despite frequent incorrect usage, facemask use was more prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic.
