Key Points

  • To explore a new symplectic framework for understanding the origins of gravity and physical constants in the universe.
  • Developed a mathematical model for a universal complex ray trajectory in symplectic phase space.
  • Investigated the implications of this framework on key cosmological scales and constants.
  • Proposed structural correspondences between symplectic invariants and observed physical parameters.
  • Identified a reinterpretation of the Big Bang as a state of maximal symplectic compression instead of a singularity.
  • Expressed several cosmological constants in terms of symplectic invariants, indicating possible geometric unification.
  • Proposed that dark matter may represent residual symplectic elasticity, enriching the understanding of cosmic composition.

Abstract

Standard cosmological models encounter a terminal mathematical obstruction at t = 0, where classicalgeneral relativity predicts a physical singularity of divergent curvature and density. In this work we explorea speculative but mathematically structured alternative in which the cosmic origin is recharacterizedas the initialization of a universal complex ray trajectory Z(t) evolving in a global symplectic phasespace. Within this framework, the invariant relation Z†Π − Π†Z = 2iℏI imposes a non-vanishing symplectic area element that acts as a geometric lower bound, preventing exact phase–space collapse. The Big Bang is therefore interpreted not as a curvature singularity, but as alimiting configuration of maximal symplectic compression — a symplectic seed — where geometricstiffness replaces divergent density. Assuming this symplectic structure extends to cosmological scales, weinvestigate whether several observed physical scales may admit reinterpretation as emergent geometricparameters of the evolving matrix trajectory. In particular, we show that the cosmological constant (Λ),Hubble parameter (H), rest mass scale (m), fine structure constant (α), MOND acceleration scale (a0),and the Planck scale can be expressed in terms of symplectic invariants and curvature projections withinthe model. These expressions are not claimed as definitive derivations, but as structural correspondencessuggesting a possible geometric unification. In this picture, the Planck length appears as a conversionthreshold at which spacetime curvature can no longer absorb symplectic stiffness without geometric recoil. We further explore the possibility that the observed dark matter to dark energy ratio (Ωm/ΩΛ ≈ 0.38)may reflect late-time redistribution of symplectic rigidity, with dark matter interpreted as residualsymplectic elasticity — off-diagonal imaginary stiffness in the universal matrix. Finally, we outline acandidate symplectic field equation in which spacetime curvature arises as a macroscopic projection ofmatrix-phase gradients via an induced pullback Bures metric. While highly exploratory, the constructionoffers a deterministic phase–space framework in which gravity, matter, and dimensionless constants mayshare a common geometric origin. The results presented here should be viewed as a conjectural unificationprogram grounded in symplectic geometry, intended to stimulate further mathematical development andcritical analysis rather than as a completed physical theory.
