Key Points

  • The aim is to develop a framework that connects dark matter and dark energy through quantum gravitational concepts.
  • Utilized density matrix formalism for gravity.
  • Distinguished between locally decohered and globally coherent gravitational states.
  • Established conceptual connections without modifying existing frameworks.
  • Identified locally decohered states as classical, corresponding to dark matter.
  • Defined globally coherent states as quantum, potentially relating to dark energy.

Abstract

We propose a conceptual framework in which dark matter (DM) and dark energy (DE) emerge as different manifestations of the quantum gravitational field. Using the density matrix formalism for gravity, we distinguish: 1. Locally decohered gravitational states (ρdec): classical on local scales, potentially corresponding to DM. 2. Globally coherent gravitational states (ρcoh): quantum coherent on cosmological scales, potentially corresponding to DE. This framework does not modify existing formalism, but offers an interpretational reading. It establishes the conceptual priority of the idea and allows for subsequent expansions or formal developments.
