Key Points

  • The report aims to present findings from the 2024 bottom trawl survey in the Aleutian Islands focused on groundfish.
  • Conducted a bottom trawl survey in the Aleutian Islands.
  • Gathered data on species distribution, abundance, and length frequency.
  • Estimated biomass, catch-per-unit effort, and average weight and length.
  • Analyzed length-weight relationships and identified various species.
  • Provided detailed charts on species distribution and abundance.
  • Estimated biomass and catch-per-unit effort across survey strata.
  • Presented length frequency plots and length-weight regression analyses.

Abstract

This report presents data from the 2024 Aleutian Islands groundfish bottom trawl survey conducted by the Groundfish Assessment Program at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center of the National Marine Fisheries Service. It contains detailed descriptions of the survey planning and operations, species distribution and abundance charts, length frequency plots, tables of estimated biomass and abundance, catch-per-unit effort, average weight and length estimates, length-weight regressions, lists of identified species, survey strata specifications and charts, and trawl descriptions and diagrams.
