Key Points

  • This research aims to detail the PET/CT imaging characteristics of low-grade oncocytic tumors in the kidney.
  • Conducted imaging analysis using 18F-FDG PET/CT.
  • Evaluated a case involving an 18-year-old woman.
  • Utilized multimodal imaging prior to PET/CT.
  • Confirmed diagnosis through histopathological examination after surgical resection.
  • Identified mild focal renal FDG uptake in the oncocytic tumor.
  • Multifocal and heterogeneous renal lesions were present prior to imaging.
  • Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of an oncocytic tumor.

Abstract

We present the 18 F-FDG PET/CT findings in an 18-year-old woman with low-grade oncocytic tumors (LOT) of the kidney. Before 18 F-FDG PET/CT imaging, multimodal imaging revealed multifocal and heterogeneous renal lesions in this 18-year-old woman. On 18 F-FDG PET/CT, the tumors showed mild focal renal FDG. The diagnosis of oncocytic tumor was histopathologically confirmed following surgical resection.
