Features of emotional burnout and subjective well-being of mothers with children with disabilities

One of the negative aspects of emotional problems associated with parenting is the emotional burnout of mothers, which acts as a significant factor in the emergence of mental and behavioral disorders in the mother, as well as in the disruption of the child's adaptation. This condition is particularly common among parents of children with disabilities (CWD). This study investigated the characteristics of parental emotional burnout in relation to emotional state and the level of subjective well-being in mothers whose child has disabilities. A subclinical severity of emotional burnout symptoms, depressive symptomatology, and a low level of components of subjective well-being were established in these mothers compared to the control group. Intergroup differences and correlations among the measured parameters are demonstrated.
