Abstract

This meta‐analysis was conducted to explore mortality risk factors in necrotizing fasciitis (NF) by analyzing 33 cohort studies ( n = 13,724) from PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase up to May 1, 2024. Using Stata 15, we found that significant risk factors included age > 60 years (odds ratio OR = 1.04), diabetes mellitus (OR = 1.83), liver cirrhosis (OR = 2.48), chronic kidney disease (OR = 1.63), systolic blood pressure 2.0 mg/dL (OR = 2.75), and hemorrhagic bullae (OR = 2.80). The findings indicate that older age, diabetes, liver cirrhosis, chronic kidney disease, hypotension, elevated creatinine, and hemorrhagic bullae significantly increase NF mortality risk, emphasizing the need for early identification and management of these factors.
