Abstract

A notebook from a collection of approximately 66 coil-bound notebooks with handwritten notes on his travels around the world. Many appear to be related to his activities as an international tour guide for his travel company, Golden Eye Travel. The information recorded in these notebooks include travel notes, such as expenses, names and addresses, accommodation, food, foreign words and phrases. Lyons also used these notebooks to record notes on botany and wildlife, such as names and sketches of flora and fauna, and birds. Some books feature film, sound and photograph notes with some being detailed diary-like entries that may be the beginnings of the film scripts inspired by these trips.
