Abstract

Digital technology fully fledged reshaping the entire education system globally. In this 21st century digital age technology integration is the most important and engaging in social science education. From student engagement to make interesting environment creation all are possible through the help of various digital tools. This paper shed light on the reviews of theoretical foundations along with practical strategies; recent challenges and the effect on students’ outcome are stated briefly. New transformation has come about how social science subjects are taught with the help of new advancement in digital tools like artificial intelligence, multimedia content along collaborative technologies. Various research has clearly reflects on the effectiveness of technology supported personal and professional learning with the development of critical and digital literacy skills. There are several challenges are also included on this study like inequitable access, socio ethical concerns and insufficient training for teachers. This paper has mentioned about the outlines of promising practices and focused on future research directions on the basis of different empirical studies and systemic reviews. Digital technology helps to make full advantages of pedagogical integration but contextual analysis and ethical usages are the most essential factor to reach full potential. Such strategic integration is very effective to prepare learners for critical engagement to deal with social realities in this digital world. Digital literacy plays crucial role for effective digital integration of technology in social science education. Digital technology is not only about the usages of handling technology properly but also inclusion of information literacy, critical thinking, effective communication and creation of digital atmosphere.
