Abstract This paper examines the growing participation of youth in contemporary political movements in India. Youth today are no longer confined to the role of voters; they have emerged as active participants in political debates, issue-based struggles, and movements for constitutional rights. The study highlights how changes in political awareness, access to information, and concern for social and environmental issues have reshaped youth participation. Special emphasis is given to digital activism, environmental politics, and intellectual movements emerging from educational institutions. Using descriptive and analytical methods, the study is based on secondary sources such as journal articles, reports, census data, and sociological surveys. The findings indicate that contemporary youth prioritize moral and issue-based politics over traditional party-centered politics, though challenges such as ideological polarization and limited transition into institutional leadership remain. The paper concludes that meaningful youth participation is essential for strengthening democratic values and ensuring long-term political reforms.
