Iliopsoas Pyomyositis in a Tropical Region as a Rare Cause of Sacroiliac Pain: A Case Report

Export A young male presented with multiple skeletal muscle abscesses with left sacroiliitis joint pain. The patient also showed false false-positive brucellosis antibody test with a negative slide agglutination test. CT scan-guided aspiration of pus inside the pelvic region, as well as laparoscopic drainage of pus with debridement, showed Staphylococcus Aureus. Patient responded with debridement of the abscess along with a prolonged antibiotic course of Vancomycin and Clindamycin. He was hemodynamically and vitally stable, hence was discharged with antibiotics at home.
