Abstract

The article examines the mechanisms for ensuring the economic security of the state during the transition to a circular economy. The lack of an adequate theoretical basis for ensuring economic security when implementing circular models, which meets high standards of scientific validity and methodological rigor, creates the risk of making decisions based on erroneous or incomplete information. In this regard, there is a need to consider scientifically grounded approaches to the expansion, implementation, and transformation of scientific knowledge in the field of circular economy into mechanisms for ensuring economic security. Circular economy significantly strengthens economic security and becomes a powerful tool by reducing dependency on limited resources, decreasing supply chain vulnerability, and enhancing resilience to price fluctuations and geopolitical instability. The methodological framework of the study consists of basic methods of scientific knowledge. The leading approach of the research is the system approach. Positive and negative effects of implementing circular practices for ensuring economic security have been identified. It has been shown that the implementation of circular models mitigates threats to energy, environmental security, and human capital security. An approach has been described that considers ensuring economic security through the lens of implementing the concept of "slowing, closing, and narrowing cycles," which classifies the full range of circular solutions. It has been determined that when forming national strategies for ensuring economic security, it is advisable to consider the balance of priorities between various cyclical mechanisms and the possibilities for their implementation, with the aim of preventing the transformation of circular models from tools for sustainable development into potential threats to economic security. Resource efficiency and resource saving are crucial aspects in maintaining the resource security of the state, which can be realized through the implementation of circular models. The impact of integrating the circular economy as a strategy for cyclical resource use reduces the need for new extractions, increasing the efficiency of their allocation and allowing for strengthening the strategic foundations of economic security by minimizing external dependencies.
