Abstract

Diabetic complications disproportionately affect urban youth in Nigeria, highlighting a critical public health issue requiring targeted preventive measures. An online survey was conducted to assess participants' knowledge levels on diabetes and its complications before and after the webinar. A mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative pre- and post-campaign surveys with qualitative feedback sessions, was utilised. A statistically significant increase (p < 0. 05) in participants' understanding of diabetic complications was observed from 42% to 68%, demonstrating the campaign's efficacy in enhancing knowledge among urban youth. The interactive webinar effectively improved participants' awareness and attitudes towards managing diabetes, suggesting its potential as a scalable tool for public health interventions. Future studies should explore long-term impact and feasibility of similar campaigns across different age groups and geographical areas.
