Abstract

Manufacturing systems adoption in Kenyan plants is crucial for enhancing productivity and competitiveness. A mixed-method approach was employed, including surveys and focus group discussions to gather data from 100 randomly selected manufacturers. Data analysis utilised logistic regression for predicting adoption rates with robust standard errors accounting for uncertainty in estimates. The results indicate that investment size has a significant positive impact on manufacturing system adoption (OR = 1. 2, p < 0. 05). Quasi-experimental design successfully measured the adoption rates and identified key predictors of manufacturing systems in Kenyan plants. Further research should explore long-term sustainability impacts and implementation strategies for adopted systems in diverse settings.
