Abstract

The Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) captured millions of images with its three tracking cameras (WFI, FFI and FPI) across nearly 800 science flights. However, this data was stored in archival formats with only rudimentary metadata. In order to perform a systematic pointing analysis, we developed a robust, Python-based pipeline at the SOFIA Data Center to process this ~ 150 TB large data set into research-grade products.
