Abstract

This study examines community-wide health awareness campaigns in Tanzanian villages aimed at improving chronic disease management. A mixed methods study was conducted, integrating both qualitative interviews (n=50) and quantitative surveys (n=1200) to assess changes in health knowledge, behaviour, and disease management practices post-campaign. There was a significant increase of 34% in villagers' reported adherence to recommended chronic disease management protocols after the campaign compared to baseline data. The community-wide health awareness campaigns led to substantial improvements in chronic disease management practices among Tanzanian villagers, with notable increases in knowledge and behaviour changes observed. Further research should explore long-term sustainability of these interventions and their impact on broader public health outcomes.
