Abstract

Non-attached biofilm aggregates are communities of microorganisms that have a biofilm phenotype, are not bound to a surface, and exist in a suspended state in a liquid environment. This paper investigates the formation of such aggregates by five Kocuria spp. strains isolated from various ecological niches. The features of their architecture and the impact of antibiotics on their development are discussed.
