Abstract

Community health centres in Kenya are essential for primary healthcare delivery, yet their adoption rates vary significantly across different regions. This study employed a comprehensive search strategy across multiple databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using keywords related to community health centres, adoption rates, and Kenyan contexts. Studies were screened based on inclusion criteria such as publication type (randomized field trials) and language (English). Methodological quality was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool. A total of 15 studies met the inclusion criteria. Analysis revealed that while randomized field trials generally have high methodological rigor, there is a significant variability in study designs across different regions of Kenya, with adoption rates ranging from 30% to 80%. The findings suggest that standardised methodologies and robust study designs are crucial for accurately measuring community health centre adoption rates in Kenya. Future research should focus on harmonizing these methods to enhance comparability and reliability across different contexts. Researchers and policymakers should prioritise the use of randomized field trials with clear, consistent protocols to improve the accuracy and consistency of adoption rate measurements. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
