Acute esophageal necrosis (AEN), or "black esophagus," is a rare and life-threatening condition characterized by diffuse circumferential black discoloration of the esophageal mucosa. This case report discusses a 71-year-old male with multiple comorbidities who presented with gastrointestinal bleeding and was subsequently diagnosed with AEN.
