Key Points

  • Chromosome numbers of 30 taxa of angiosperms from Tanzania were documented, with eight being new discoveries.
  • Notably, Ornithogalum longibracteatum displays B-chromosomes for the first time, marking a significant finding.
  • The analysis emphasizes the diversity of chromosome structures within these plant species across Tanzania.
  • Understanding these chromosome variations is crucial for studies in plant genetics and biodiversity.

Abstract

Chromosome Numbers of 30 taxa of angiosperms from Tanzania are reported. Of these, counts of 8 species are new. The occurrence of B-chromosome in Ornithogalum longibracteatum is reported for the first time.
