Abstract

Hypertension is a major global health concern that often requires combination therapy for effective and sustained blood pressure control. Fixed-dose and triple-drug combinations, such as telmisartan, amlodipine, and indapamide, offer enhanced therapeutic efficacy through complementary mechanisms of action and improved patient adherence. The increasing use of these multicomponent formulations underscores the need for reliable, accurate, and validated analytical methods to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. This review summarizes reported analytical techniques, including UV spectrophotometry, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC), for the simultaneous estimation of these antihypertensive drugs in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage forms. Among the available methods, reverse-phase HPLC is identified as the most widely employed technique due to its superior accuracy, precision, specificity, and suitability for routine quality control. Overall, continuous advancement of robust and eco-friendly analytical methodologies is essential to maintain the safety, efficacy, and quality of anti-hypertensive drug products.
