Toxoplasma gondii is a globally prevalent zoonotic parasite, with vertical transmission during pregnancy posing significant risks for congenital infection. Awareness among healthcare professionals is crucial for prevention and effective management. We conducted a cross-sectional study among 282 healthcare professionals in Morocco from May to August 2022. A structured questionnaire assessed knowledge of toxoplasmosis and potential risk factors. Associations between seropositivity, knowledge, and exposure variables were analyzed using chi-square tests (p < 0.05). Toxoplasmosis seropositivity was observed in 21.8% of female healthcare professionals. Significant risk factors included having a cat at home and consuming undercooked meat ( p < 0.005). Knowledge of the causative agent ( T. gondii ) and recommended treatment for maternal seroconversion was significantly associated with professional profile ( p < 0.05). Overall, a substantial proportion of healthcare professionals demonstrated inadequate understanding of toxoplasmosis, particularly regarding preventive measures during pregnancy. Moroccan healthcare professionals exhibit limited knowledge of toxoplasmosis, despite notable seroprevalence and clear risk factors. Targeted educational interventions are urgently needed to improve awareness, guide preventive practices, and reduce maternal-fetal transmission risk.
