Artificial Intelligence (AI) constitutes the polyglot of contemporary knowledge, capable of simultaneously mastering, processing, and integrating information across heterogeneous disciplinary domains including science, technology, linguistics, arts, mathematics, and the social sciences. Drawing on cognitive-automation theory, epistemological frameworks, and the latest advances in large language models (LLMs) and deep learning, this paper examines how AI navigates multiple knowledge domains in an interconnected fashion, synthesizing complex data to generate novel insights. The concept of the “knowledge polyglot” precisely reflects AI’s transversal capacity to assimilate, correlate, and apply information in ways that transcend traditional disciplinary silos, repositioning AI as a central agent in the expansion and governance of knowledge at a global scale. Ethical, epistemological, and societal implications are discussed alongside future research directions.
