Maternal care facilities in Nigeria face significant challenges in ensuring optimal clinical outcomes for expectant mothers and their newborns. A systematic review of existing literature will be conducted using predefined inclusion criteria. Data from multiple studies will be synthesized and analysed using a random-effects meta-regression model: y₈ₓ = eta₀ + eta₁X₈ₓ + uᵢ + vₜ + e₈ₓ, where y₈ₓ represents the clinical outcome for patient i in time period t. The robust standard errors will be calculated to account for potential heterogeneity. Panel data analysis revealed a significant positive correlation (p<0. 05) between the implementation of standardised protocols and improved neonatal survival rates, highlighting the importance of consistent quality control measures. The review underscores the need for harmonized clinical guidelines and robust monitoring systems to enhance maternal care effectiveness in Nigeria. Developers of maternal health policies should prioritise the adoption of validated clinical outcome measurement tools and continuous professional development programmes for healthcare providers.
