Undetected SGA was associated with adverse neonatal outcomes. Preterm undetected SGA carried a disproportionately high morbidity burden compared to term undetected SGA. Prenatal factors, including maternal complications, umbilical cord and placental abnormalities, played a crucial role in identifying SGA.
