Synergistic modulation of electronic and acid–base properties of loaded Pt–Fe–Zr oxide catalyst for ethylbenzene oxidative dehydrogenation under low-oxygen conditions

YMYuan MaCGChaojun GuoCSChuli Shi

Key Points

  • The research aims to investigate the effects of Zr species on the electronic and acid-base properties of the Pt–Fe–Zr catalyst for ethylbenzene oxidative dehydrogenation.
  • Analysis of Pt–Fe–Zr/Al2O3 catalyst composition and properties
  • Measurement of electron transfer dynamics between Fe and Pt
  • Assessment of catalytic performance under low-oxygen conditions
  • Increased Fe3+ content observed with Zr species addition
  • Reduction in the number of strong acid sites leading to lower coke deposition
  • Enhanced overall catalytic activity noted under specified conditions

Abstract

In the Pt–Fe–Zr/Al 2 O 3 catalyst, Zr species promote electron transfer from Fe species to Pt species, increasing the Fe 3+ content and decreasing the number of strong acid sites, thereby enhancing catalytic activity and reducing coke deposition.
