Abstract

环境地球科学因认识与解决环境问题而产生,其研究目的是解决地球的环境问题,发挥着不可或缺的“地球环境医生”角色。环境地球科学将表层地球系统与人类自身作为整体,从地球系统科学的角度,探索自然条件和人类活动影响下环境问题的形成机制、驱动因素、生态效应、健康风险与解决方案,为环境保护、防灾减灾、促进人类社会可持续发展和人与自然和谐共生提供科学依据。环境地球科学学科具有鲜明的国家需求导向、多学科交叉和新学科特性,是地球科学的重要分支学科。本文从学科发展简史、发展态势及社会需求、重点领域、纲领性科学问题、人才团队与平台以及研究范式变革等几个方面进行了系统梳理。面向美丽中国、健康中国、安全中国建设的重大科技需求,从科学前沿、学科交叉和需求导向三个方面,梳理出土壤生态环境与安全、水环境演变与生态效应、工程地质环境与灾害、环境污染与健康风险、区域环境与可持续发展以及环境地球跨圈层探测、模拟与预测等六大重点研究领域。未来,学科将继续多角度深入探索环境地球科学问题,从跨领域和学科的视角,整合不同环境过程、不同时空尺度、不同学科领域,提出重大地球环境问题解决方案,促进人类社会可持续发展,为美丽中国、健康中国和安全中国建设提供基础科学支撑。
