Abstract

This work develops a coherence-based framework that examines the conditions required for physical existence to become possible. Rather than beginning with spacetime, particles, or physical laws as primitive elements, the analysis investigates the structural prerequisites that must be satisfied before such entities can emerge at all. The approach is formulated as a constraint-based ladder of emergence in which each stage introduces a new capability that enables subsequent forms of structure and stability. The framework proceeds from a minimal precondition of ontological possibility and systematically derives the requirements for persistence, differentiation, repetition, regulation, and interaction. These capabilities accumulate to allow the emergence of ordered change, countability, and ultimately temporal structure. Within this sequence, time is not treated as a fundamental background parameter but as a consequence of irreversible ordering processes. Energy, causality, mass, particles, and spacetime appear only after the conditions necessary for their coherent persistence have been established. The resulting model situates established physical theories—such as General Relativity, Quantum Field Theory, and thermodynamics—as effective descriptions that operate within already structured regimes of existence. The purpose of the framework is therefore not to replace existing physics, but to clarify the deeper conditions that make those theories applicable in the first place. By identifying the minimal structural constraints required for stable physical reality, the work provides a systematic account of how a universe capable of sustaining physics could arise from a deeper coherence-based substrate.
