Northern Ghana's rainfed cropping systems are crucial for smallholder farmers, but their sustainability is challenged by climate variability and market fluctuations. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative data analysis to understand farmer perceptions and system performance. Sustainable farming systems can significantly improve economic outcomes and resilience for smallholder farmers in northern Ghana's rainfed areas. Government should invest in infrastructure support for water harvesting and provide training on modern agricultural techniques to enhance adoption rates.
