Key Points

  • This study aims to evaluate the effects of Robuvit® supplementation on sarcopenia, specifically muscular mass and strength.
  • Pilot registry study design
  • Participants received Robuvit® supplementation
  • Assessment of hand strength and muscular vascularization
  • Evaluation of plasma oxidative stress and urinary excretion of 3-methylhistidine
  • Robuvit® supplementation increased hand strength
  • Improved muscular vascularization was observed
  • Subjective vigor was reported to be higher
  • Plasma oxidative stress was reduced
  • Urinary excretion of 3-methylhistidine, a marker of muscle loss, decreased

Abstract

In conclusion, this pilot registry study suggests that 'primary' (idiopathic) sarcopenia can be reduced in otherwise healthy subjects with supplementation of Robuvit®. Robuvit® increased hand strength, muscular vascularization, subjective vigor and reduced plasma oxidative stress and urinary excretion of 3-methylhistidine a marker of muscle loss after 3 months.
