Abstract

In Zimbabwe's Midlands Province, innovative climate change adaptation strategies are crucial for maize farmers in response to erratic weather patterns. Qualitative research methods were employed, including interviews and observational studies among 30 maize farmers and 15 local government officials. Data analysis focused on themes of collaboration and adaptation strategies. Farmers' groups reported a significant increase (25%) in crop yield thanks to new irrigation systems implemented with local governments' support. Local partnerships are pivotal for climate change adaptation, particularly through shared resources and knowledge exchange. Further research should explore scalability of these models. Governments and NGOs should promote collaborative frameworks that include farmers' organizations to enhance resilience against climatic shocks.
