Abstract

New technologies have penetrated all areas of society. Today, it is unimaginable to avoid the use of technological devices in the education sector, as they make the learning process more engaging and interesting, while at the same time having a positive effect on students' motivation. New technologies facilitate instructors' access to information, materials, and tools used during teaching. Educational technology experienced significant expansion during the pandemic, when hybrid teaching or distance learning was the only way to organize classes. However, despite all the advantages of these technologies, maintaining cybersecurity represents a major challenge faced by educational institutions and students. Although numerous programs and initiatives have been introduced with the aim of protecting young people from cyberattacks in the digital environment, it appears that this is not sufficient, and that a more decisive initiative by authorities and society as a whole is necessary.
