Key Points

  • The aim is to develop an electrochemical method for C(sp3)–H amination to synthesize quinazolines under mild conditions.
  • Developed a cyclization reaction using an iodine catalyst.
  • Applied electrochemical techniques for amination.
  • Evaluated scalability and substrate applicability.
  • Achieved good yields of various substituted quinazolines.
  • Demonstrated metal-free and oxidant-free reaction conditions.

Abstract

An efficient electrochemical C(sp 3 )–H amination cyclization was developed under mild conditions in the presence of an iodine catalyst. A series of substituted quinazolines can be obtained with good yields by virtue of the new avenue. The reaction features excellent substrate applicability, scalability, metal‐free, and chemical oxidant‐free.
